This Seasons Discussion 9 AM 9:50 AM Format for 08 Keep as is, Have Tournament Style play Double/Triple Playoff Format final Decision as agreed upon by all teams present ΰ Looking to Play all teams once, seed based on standings and then have a double or triple elimination tournament both formats will be listed on the web as soon as they are available. Season Length Locked in for the three months that we currently have cannot change BUT will try to end 1 week earlier Woman/Men presently, mens league can use two women to fill out a roster league age needs to be a minimum of 16 as of June 1st for insurance reasons/risks. Insurance ΰ The league is a Play at your own risk. The league insurance is only for Liabilities to the field that we play on. We are dependant on individuals who have their own health insurance coverage. We would not be able to play if we also paid for a ;policy that paid for injuries that occurred on the field. Umpire Assignments ΰ due to finances, we will be keeping things the way they were Rosters ΰ June 30th we would like a majority of the team from church. We understand that most churches also use the team as an outreach program. All players for your team represent your church and God. Please address any issues promptly if they occur. Communication ΰ e-mail / valid phone numbers / addresses Priority use of e-mail for ease of communication ΰ THIS IS A MUST It would be greatly appreciated. Umpires Umpire Responsibilities will be the same if we were to get paid umpires it is estimated to cost approx $16200 for 2 umps per game @ $30/each ump/each game (270 total games last year / approx $1100 per team) Last year we had 93% missed umpire rate In addition Teams supplying umpires MUST send two players to umpire not one.
Score Reporting Went well 99.6% - will continue same as last year.
Start Dates Want to ensure the start the date of the league est. Monday, May 12th Last time to join is to Monday April 14th to avoid scheduling issues.
League schedules conflicting with Church Events Please be sure to include all important dates that your church needs set aside for the season now VBS / Missionary Conferences / Quarterly Meetings by Monday April 14th at the latest ΰ these things do not just come up. Church events are events that more than likely have already been scheduled by your church co-coordinators. Please check with your church co-coordinators so you can get your dates in early. There will be NO alterations to the schedule aside from rainouts or unfortunate unscheduled events if you have failed to deliver the dates by the time stated ΰ April 14th, 2008
League Fees All league fees should be presented at the Saturday March 29th meeting. Fees can be paid up to April 14th. After April 14th, either you are playing or not. If your team fails to pay fees or make arrangements with league leadership to pay fees by this date, we will assume that you will be unable to play this year. You MUST have some consideration to the people who are trying to coordinate, schedule, order supplies (Balls, ASA books, Field Permits). We want to start the league on time (May 12th, and the goal is to get the schedule out there as soon as possible. This will only happen if you support the league and do your share. Many hands will make light work. Fees for 2008 will be $200 per team. Please notify league leadership if there are any issues with this. The insurance, balls, ASA membership and website need to be paid for by then.
Style of play for 2008 2 suggestions Stay as we are OR Play everyone once and then some type of elimination tournament based on standings everyone to play each once. If tournament style is chosen is it to be single, double or triple elimination. Want to try and keep the season the same length, approx same # of games. Our current season is from the 2nd week in May to the 2nd week in August. Side note: We have problems starting any sooner or going any later than what is mentioned above due to summer Vacation schedules, darkness/lack of available sunlight, other sports leagues ending/starting ΰ JV Baseball/softball in June and football/soccer in august
Web Site Continue running the site if that is okay. What changes would you like to see in the web? Approx. cost is $45 for season includes Domain Name and Web Space we did not exceed our bandwidth last year so what we have now will continue to work.
Rosters Keep them Players can be added on a regular basis BUT ΰ last date for roster adds June 30th. Players can be added AFTER June 30th, but will be ineligible for the playoffs. Bats Leave bat rule the same, change it or dump it? Leave as is
